2001 business targets
The Danubius Board of Directors intends to ensure the development of the company in 2001 with an increasingly more efficient price policy, strict cost management, renovated hotels and a widening range of services alongside an improved capacity utilisation. Our objective is to drive the net profits that constitute the basis of dividend payment as well as to further increase shareholders’ property through possible favourable acquisitions inland and outside the country.
Supposing a quiet economic and political environment and hoping for inferable economic decisions we think we can concentrate our efforts entirely on retaining our clientele and professional colleagues.
Considering the approach of the EU accession, the steadily developing economy of Hungary and the surrounding countries, the forecasted moderate inflation and the further decreasing devaluation it seems realistic to target 13% revenue increase, 17% operating profit increase and approx. HUF 100 million increase of profit before tax for this year.

Moderate increase of occupancy
The achieved average occupancy of 62.5% in 2000 is considered to be very good both in Hungary and internationally. If we draw our attention to the capacity increase that took place in the field of 4-5* hotels the planned 2% capacity increase may seem rather bold at first sight. However, our company is confident that the efforts of our reorganised and strengthened sales organisation both abroad and inland will be reflected in the occupancy figures as well. In addition, we would like to maintain the occupancy achieved last year in our city hotels despite the augmentation in capacities and we hope that the sale of the services of our country hotels will produce the expected surplus.
We have the feeling that we have done everything including the reorganisation of the sales and marketing in order to be able to achieve the above goals. We have prepared ourselves consciously for the competition we face with our reconstruction policy in the recent years and we continue the rotation of hotel General Managers, which proved to be very successful since it was started last year.
We see the key source for the increase of revenues in introducing a rigorous price policy applying discounts and benefits exclusively in justified cases.
