Electrotherapy
TENS - TRANSCUTAN Electric Nerve Stimulation
A pad is placed upon the site of the problematic area and an electric current passes through the skin to the nerves. The effect of the treatment results in a pain killing effect.
Duration of treatment: 30 minutes
Interference Current
This is an effective treatment for pain relief, particularly in the back or neck. Different electrical pads are placed onto the body in conjunction with a small vacuum. This has the effect of a micro massage in the damaged tissue. Not only does this have a painkilling effect, but the massage has a healing effect on the injury through improved circulation and a flow of oxygen to the tissue.
Duration of treatment: 15 - 20 minutes.
Galvanic bath
Water and a gentle electric current are the components of this treatment. The guest lies in a bath at a temperature of 34 degrees C whilst electricity is passed through the body. The Galvanic Bath is used for the treatment of degenerative, inflammatory arthritis and for joint problems.
Duration of treatment: 15 minutes.
Four cell galvanic bath
This treatment is especially beneficial for Rheumatoid Arthritis. The forearms and lower legs are placed in water trays. An electric current is passed through warm water at 34 degrees C. Because only parts of the body are immersed in water, the electric current in the four cell bath can be given at a stronger intensity than the full galvanic bath. It also has the additional benefit of improvement of circulation.
Duration of treatment: 15 minutes.
Iontophoresis
This electrotherapy treatment has the effect of allowing medicines into the organism by galvanic current. It's recommended in cases of arthritis and chronic and inflammatory spinal problems.
Duration of treatment: 12 - 16 minutes
DIADYNAMIC stimulus current
This treatment uses a special type of electric current used for relieving pain and the improvement of circulation. Application is given in cases of: sprains, bruises, oedemans, joint and spine wear and disc degeneration. It also has an analgesic effect.
Duration of treatment: 12 - 16 minutes
Selective Stimulus Current
Two pads are placed at both ends of the muscle. An electric current is then released for 20 minutes. The client feels the muscle fibers contracting and relaxing as the treatment is in progress. The purpose of the treatment is to build strength in muscles following an injury or operation and is excellent as part of a rehabilitation package.
Duration of treatment: about 20 minutes
Magnetic Therapy
The magneto therapy is believed to be effective in recharging the magnetic powers of the cells of the organ by creating a weakly pulsing magnetic field. This results in normalising the metabolism and promotes the re-growth of the cells. The guest lies and relaxes on a bed whilst the treatment is in progress.
